The default installation of 64 bit version does not provide the extra's for running old 32Bit apps.
to enable this, you need to add it as follows:
dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt install --reinstall libsdl1.2debian
Optionally you might have to install the new quake engine too: download
here
