ARCHOS 70 IT 250Gb: Touchscreen &/or System slow or not responsive

The ARCHOS 70 Internet Tablet 250Gb is a wonderful system, but I found it to have some issues.
One particular issue that has caused me grieve, is the touchscreen; it seems not responsive or very slow responding at times, and sometimes completely off calibration. Using the in system calibration, seems not to do much. Sometimes I had to hold my finger up to 10 seconds on the back button to get a response.

The easy way to get rid of this is repairing the calibration in the “Recovery start-up”

Follow the 5 steps below:

  1. Power on the system while holding the volume + or - keep holding the volume button until you see the recovery screen. (img1)

  2. Choose Repair System (img1)
  3. Select “ Force Touchscreen Calibration” (img2)

  4. Press power button to start the calibration (img3)

  5. When calibration is done (img4) select Reboot (img5)

Hope this works for you too. Good Luck.
